| Message: | No nuclear power plant is totally safe from possible nuclear accidents during peace as well as war. One nuclear power plant is in operation at Chashma, Mianwali. One plant is under construction and two more are planned at Chashma. 2. To minimize damage from possible nuclear accidents, two planned nuclear plants should be dispersed and located elsewhere at a safe distance. 3. As regards energy benefits to local population likely to be exposed to nuclear hazards, Mianwali suffered the worst type load shedding and voltage fluctuation even before the present energy crisis which is continuing unabated. A typical example of neglected interior sharing the risk but not proportionately the benefits . |
